Murray Machining & Sheds, Murray Bridge Speedway presents the McMahon Services Australasian Speedcar Championship over 2 nights this Easter - Saturday, April 8 and Sunday, April 9.
The event has attracted close to the 30 competitors from right across Australia and New Zealand, with a massive $20K on the line for the 50 Lap race winner - the highest paying Speedcar winner's cheque in the Southern hemisphere.
The format will see 2 rounds of heats on Night 1, along with a Preliminary 20 Lap feature, followed by the remaining round of Heats, Pole Shuffle, B-Main and the 50 Lap Championship Decider on Night 2.
Local entrants include Robert Heard and Brendan Zadow, along with regular Sprintcar competitor Ryan Jones. Michael Stewart and Kaiden Brown (NSW), Daniel Harding and Kaiden Manders (WA) along with Victorians Nick Parker and Travis Mills are just some of the interstate competitors, with the international cohort including two Kiwis in Michael Pickens and Caleb Currie.
In supports, Formula 500s will race for their annual ’65 Roses’ event in support of Cystic Fibrosis, while several Junior Formula 500 competitors will also be travelling over from Victoria.
Easter Sunday night will also feature a sparkling fireworks display at approx. 9pm, with the car crushing Demolition Derby to finish the night off with a bang thanks to U-Pull-It.
Public gates open at 5pm, with racing starting at 6pm on both nights, with event tickets selling quickly via www.speedwaytickets.com.au
Canteen, food truck and bar facilities will be available on the night.
