Murray Machining & Sheds/Murray Bridge Speedway’s 2020/2021 Season was initially due to kick off in September with practice and our opening race night; however, with the current COVID-19 situation and border restrictions still in place, there will be a delayed start to the season.
We are monitoring the ever-changing situation very closely, and working hard behind the scenes to ensure our venue complies with the SA Government’s COVID-19 safety measures and social distancing requirements to ensure the health and safety of our drivers, spectators, staff & volunteers.
There will be a number of changes we will be implementing, including a temporary move to online ticketing only and attendance figure capping, with more details to be released once our race dates have been finalised.
We anticipate at this stage that our first meeting will be in October, 2020. While we will be limited to a series of club show style formats for the time being, we are working together with our fellow South Australian Speedway tracks in order to showcase the best racing that our State has to offer.
This is definitely not the end of our sport of speedway; we will be back and running this year and into the new year, albeit in a localised format in this new COVID world - but we are looking forward to having you back very soon!
