COVID-19 UPDATE - DECEMBER 5TH MEETING TO GO AHEAD
With new restrictions affecting Community Sport in South Australia as of midnight last night due to the recent Covid-19 outbreak, Murray Bridge Speedway wishes to advise that our next planned race meeting on Saturday, December 5th will still be going ahead at this stage.
The program was set to include the 3rd of our SA Sprintcars Club Shows, the long awaited return of the Modified Sedans, along with V6 Sprints and Wingless Sprints with other divisions still being confirmed.
Current advice from SA Health indicates that the restrictions will likely remain in place for the next two weeks, with our planned meeting fortunately falling outside of this indicated time frame.
As a pre-caution, online ticket sales have currently been paused for the time-being via www.speedwaytickets.com.au
Should advice from SA Health change in the meantime, a final decision in regards to the running of the December 5th meeting will be announced on Monday, November 30th which is the cited date for the end of the current 2 week restriction period.
At this stage, our venue will still be capped at 1000 people for the December 5th meeting. Management had recently applied for the next level Covid Management Plan to allow for our capacity to be increased, and we were in the final stages of approval with SA Health ttt before the current crisis unfolded. Given the current situation, we understand the Health Department may have other priorities at present - but we would like to keep our Speedway Community informed that we have been working behind the scenes to put the requirements in place and are still seeking to have our Plan approved for future events.
Again, we thank you for your patience and support during this time and fingers crossed we can still go racing in a little over 2 weeks.
