The local “South Aussie Posse” will have their last opportunity to tune up their machinery prior to the USC SA Grand Final with a Sprintcars SA Club Show this Saturday Night (April 7) at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway. With a field of 18 drivers nominated all eyes will be on Ryan Jones who will be chasing his third feature event win of the season but there will be a number of other drivers out to claim their first MMS A-Main victory of the year including Matt Egel, Daniel Pestka, Keke Falland, Steven Caruso and Jake Tranter.
On recent form Jones would have to be the outright favourite coming off a last win in the Ross Wright Memorial but Keke Falland was on the podium that night and Jake Tranter had his best run of the season with a fourth placed result. Strathalbyn’s Daniel Pestka also has a podium finish this season along with Matt Egel, and you can be assured that they will want to visit the MMS victory lane before the season is out. Both Pestka and Egel both have a main event victory to their names this season with Pestka winning the Tyson Perez Memorial and Egel the World Series Sprintcar round at Avalon.
Brendan Quinn, Justin Sloan, Hayden Pitt, Shannon Barry and Todd Wigzell may also be able to mix it with the drivers already mentioned in what should be an entertaining 30 lap finale to the night.
The field also includes a couple of 360ci Sprintcars with Michael Lovegrove, who always puts in a great showing against the open cars, and female racer Chieian Perrett. Trevor Green will also field a car for debutante Ben Morris, the son of Maxwill Race Engines guru Peter Morris.
With this event not being included in the USC SA point score the drivers will not have to worry about racing for points with the focus being on the prizemoney and the trophy on offer.
