A late decision to contest the final Sprintcars SA Club show of the season at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway paid off for Luke Dillon as he led all 30 laps in the non-stop main event after starting from the pole. In only his second start of the season Dillon dominated the night’s action as he set the quickest lap in qualifying (11.259 seconds) before winning his opening heat. The only time that the #81 Action Line Marking Triple X wasn’t up front was in heat 3, where he recorded a third placed finish.

Saturday night’s Ross Wright Sprintcar Memorial at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway was totally dominated by Matt Egel as he led all 30 laps of the caution filled A-Main to claim his third victory of the South Australian Sprintcar season. For the second week in a row Joel Chadwick has driven his race car onto the winner’s podium at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway after surviving the longest race of the South Australian Wingless Sprint season. After starting from position 12 in the 20-car line up, due to an incident in his second heat, Chadwick took over the lead on lap 48 and then paced the field for the remaining 12 laps to claim the 2nd Annual 60 Lapper.
Joel Chadwick captured his fourth South Australian Wingless Sprint Championship in the most spectacular fashion on Saturday night at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway with a last corner slider on Joel Heinrich. After starting from position six for the 30-lap decider Chadwick stormed his way into second early and then set out after race leader Heinrich before the duo put on a titanic battle throughout the final 10 laps with Chadwick finally getting the better of Heinrich in one of the best finishes to an A-Main at the venue in several seasons.
A field of over 45+ drivers will take to the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway clay this Saturday night (February 20) to decide the 2021 South Australian Wingless Sprint Champion. With the 2020 edition falling victim to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will be the first time the Championship has been conducted since 2019 when Victorian’s Daniel and Luke Storer defeated Joel Chadwick in an exciting finish at Murray Bridge.
Murray Machining & Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway in consultation with the Sprintcar Control Council of Australia (SCCA) have made the difficult decision to postpone the 2021 360 Australian Sprintcar Championship to 2022. The seventeenth running of the event will now be held on March 25 and 26, 2022, in light of recent border closures and announcements.

When COVID-19 robbed Sprintcar fans of World Series Sprintcars for season 2020-21, it seemed like the entire summer may be devoid of high end Sprintcar Action – Wrong!
After a gruelling Sprintcars SA Speedweek, that saw events at Whyalla, Mount Gambier and Bordertown, the Final Round at the Murray Machining and Sheds Murray Bridge Speedway on Saturday night unfortunately saw only 9 cars front for action. Due to the low car count the format was changed at the pre-event Drivers Meeting with Track Management deciding to run two heats followed by twin 20-lap features.
In hot, balmy conditions, the action on track was just as hot at Murray Bridge Speedway’s Boxing Night event.
As Christmas rolls around for another year, this also usually means that World Series Sprintcars will be rolling into town; however, like many other events nationwide, the series was unfortunately affected by Covid-19. Nevertheless, Murray Bridge Speedway is still set to go racing this Boxing Day Night - December 26th, 2020.
